Reliance® Electric S-2000 XP motors are
designed to operate in harsh environments that contain gas, vapor, dust,
fibers, flyings, or other materials that may have explosive properties.
These motors are constructed to withstand an internal explosion, to
prevent ignition of the environment surrounding the motor as a result of
an internal explosion, and to operate with external surface temperatures
that will not ignite the surrounding environment. With a Reliance S-2000
XP motor you have Reliance Electric’s many years of explosion-proof motor
experience behind you. You are assured of a long lasting, reliable motor
for your application.
Standard Features
- Frame - Full seam weld. Optimum thickness for better heat
dissipation. Ends turned for excellent fit to end shields. Frames primed
with alkyd primer for corrosion resistance.
- End Shields - Die cast aluminum with metal bearing bore
inserts to provide extra strength and security.
- Base - Heavy duty steel welded to frame.
- Rotor - Cast aluminum with integrally cast fins for excellent
cooling. Keyless design, heat shrunk to shaft, turned for proper air
gap, and dynamically balanced - providing for a superior, more efficient
electrical design.
- Stator - Specially treated class "F" and "H" wire used with
full slot liner material. Coil heads laced for improved mechanical
strength. Stator tested before and after assembly providing optimum
electrical integrity.
- Insulation - Non-hygroscopic, baked-on insulation assures
superior electrical strength.
- Hardware - Zinc chromate plated, high strength, with hex
heads. Plating provides exceptional corrosion protection.
- Bearings - Double shielded. Oversized. Permanently lubricated
with moisture resistant grease. Rugged - holds up in tough applications.
- Conduit Box - Removable, oversized conduit box with grounding
lug for ease of installation and safety.
- Shaft - High strength, carbon steel.
- Connection Diagram - Permanently attached to motor.
- Fan - Antistatic, bidirectional, corrosion resistant
polypropylene. Provides superior cooling with reduced losses due to air
movement. Keyed and clamped to prevent movement on the shaft.
- Leads - Permanently marked providing fast identification.
- Temperature Limiting Devices - Thermal protectors or
thermostats included as standard. Assures rated skin temperature,
providing maximum safety.
- Certifications - U.L.Æ and CSA approved for hazardous
locations.
- Energy Saving Design - Provided by electrically matched rotor
and stator which reduce primary and secondary losses.
