With more than ninety years of DC motor design experience, Reliance Electric continues its leadership in the variable speed marketplace by introducing the RPM XL Small DC Washdown Duty motor. This product is specially designed for use in the most severe, washdown industrial applications. The RPM XL Washdown Duty motors are totally enclosed, sealed to prevent contamination, and are suitable for cleaning with steam and high pressure water.

Standard Features

• Brushes - New cartridge brush holders with brass inserts and stainless steel springs ensure constant pressure on commutator for longer brush life. Brushes can be easily removed for inspection and maintenance. Oversized brushes and commutator help prolong brush life up to four times the industry standard!
• Permanent Magnet Fields - Eliminate the need for field power supply, reducing installation and maintenance costs.
• TEFC Enclosure - TEFC design is optimized for power matched performance. Cooler operating temperatures result in longer motor life and allow motor to attain constant torque over a 20:1 speed range with a free wheeling diode (Power Code K).
• High Starting Torques - Up to 650% of rated full load torque.
• Tach Provisions - Easily obtained from stock kits with C-Face fan covers.
• Insulation - Class F non-hygroscopic insulation system rated at 180ƒC extends motor life.
• Bearings - Permanently lubricated, double-sealed ball bearings keep dirt out and guard against grease loss.
• Seals - Lip seals on both ends of motor shaft restrict water and contamination entry.
• Shaft - High-strength stainless steel shaft offers better resistance to corrosive materials.
• Fan - Antistatic, bi-directional, corrosion-resistant polypropylene. Provides superior cooling with reduced losses due to air movement. Keyed and clamped to prevent movement on the shaft.
• Hardware - High strength, zinc chromate plated hardware provides exceptional corrosion protection.
• Mounting - Heavy duty, NEMA 56 C-Face frame is available with or without welded base.
• Gasketed Conduit Box - Oversized, top-mounted conduit box with F1/F2 conduit connection and permanently marked leads simplifies installation.
• Finish - USDA approved white epoxy paint suitable for food industry.
• Washdown Duty Enclosures - Available from stock for use in a wide range of industrial environments.
• Modifications - Available to meet specific customer needs, including IEC flanges, brakes, and tachometers, as well as special shafts and electrical designs.
• Certifications - U/L component recognition and CSA approval are standard. Motors are manufactured in our ISO 9001-certified plant in Gainesville, GA.
