With
more than ninety years of DC motor design experience, Reliance Electric
continues its leadership position in the variable speed marketplace by
introducing the RPM XL - a new small DC product line incorporating state–of–the–art
design improvements. This effort has resulted in a high quality industrial
duty product with more customer value and benefits than ever before.
Standard Features
- Brushes - New
cartridge brush holders with brass inserts and stainless steel springs
ensure constant pressure on commutator for longer brush life. Brushes
can be easily removed for inspection and maintenance. Oversized brushes
and commutator help prolong brush life up to four times the industry
standard.
- Permanent
magnet fields - Eliminate need for field power supply, reducing
installation and maintenance costs. Permanent magnet motors have no
field losses, allowing them to attain higher efficiencies than wound
field motors and reduce energy costs.
- TEFC
Design - Ensures power matched performance. Cooler operating
temperatures result in longer motor life and allow motor to attain
constant torque over a 20:1 speed range with a free wheeling diode
(Power Code K).
- High
starting torques - Up to 650% of rated full load
torque.
- Tach
provisions - Easily obtained from stock kits with C–Face fan covers.
- Insulation - Class
F non–hygroscopic insulation system rated at 180ƒC extends
motor life.
- Bearings -
Permanently lubricated double–shielded ball bearings keep dirt out and
guard against grease loss.
- Mounting - Heavy duty,
NEMA 56 C–Face frame is available with or without welded base.
- Conduit
Box - Oversized, top–mounted conduit box with F1/F2 conduit
connection and permanently marked leads simplifies installation.
- Finish
-Reliance Electric blue–green paint is high–grade, epoxy air–dry enamel
with non–toxic rust inhibitors for longer life in industrial
environments.
- Modifications
-available to meet specific customer needs include IEC flanges, brakes,
and tachometers as well as special shafts and electrical designs.
- Hardware - Metric
hardware and brushes standard.
- Certifications - U/L
component recognized and CSA approval are standard. (U/L File: E54825;
CSA File LR 40567.) Motors are manufactured in our ISO 9001–certified
plant in Gainesville, GA.
- Enclosures -
Standard and wash–down duty enclosures available from stock for use in a
wide range of industrial environments.
